A session built around your kids, not the other way round
Children give you about twenty minutes of cooperation, so we don't waste them. We start with a game — a race to the railing, a hunt for the blue tiles, jumping over the pavement patterns — and capture the real laughter before asking for one or two tidy group photos. Then we let the little ones explore while we photograph the moments in between.
We pick locations with space and fewer steps: the riverside at Praça do Comércio and Ribeira das Naus, the gardens and promenade in Belém, or quieter corners of Alfama early in the morning. If someone uses a stroller or a wheelchair, tell us and we will choose a flat route.
Timing
When families get the best photos
Toddlers and babies
Morning sessions between breakfast and nap, or late afternoon after the nap. We keep it to 30–60 minutes.
School-age kids
Golden hour before sunset works well. Promise an ice cream afterwards and you have a deal.
Teens and grandparents
Fewer poses, more walking and talking. We make sure grandparents get a quiet portrait with each grandchild.

Practical tips for a family photoshoot in Lisbon
Choose clothes in a simple palette
Pick one or two main colours and let everyone wear variations of them — light blue, white and sand is a classic Lisbon combination. Avoid characters and big logos, and give kids clothes they can move in. Sensible shoes for everyone: the limestone pavement is slippery, especially after rain.
Bring snacks and a favourite toy
A small snack halfway through saves many sessions. A favourite toy or teddy can appear in a few photos and makes shy toddlers more comfortable.
Let us do the entertaining
Parents tend to spend the whole session saying "look at the camera". Don't — we will get their attention. The best family photos happen when you are paying attention to each other.
Extended families and reunions
For big groups we plan a clear order: the full group photo first while everyone is fresh, then each family unit, then grandparents with grandchildren, then free time. Allow 90 minutes for more than ten people.

How long should a family photoshoot be?
Thirty minutes works for babies and toddlers, sixty for most families. Choose 90 minutes for large groups or multi-generation sessions.
Is Lisbon stroller-friendly for a photoshoot?
Parts of it. Praça do Comércio, the riverside and Belém are flat and spacious; Alfama and Graça have steps and steep lanes. We choose a route that works for your family.
What if my toddler has a meltdown?
It happens in almost every family session. We pause, play, wait it out and carry on. Some of the most honest photos come right after.
How many people are included?
Up to 6 people in every package. For larger groups, send us the number and we will quote.
Can we do a family session at sunrise?
Yes, and it is the quietest option — but only if your kids are early risers. Late afternoon is usually easier.
Do you photograph family reunions and milestone birthdays?
Yes. Tell us the occasion and the group size, and we will plan the order of photos so nobody is standing around too long.
Can we bring a stroller?
Yes. We'll choose a flat route such as Praça do Comércio, the riverside or Belém.
