Booking terms
Last updated 29 September 2026. The short version: a deposit reserves your time, weather changes are always free, and your photos arrive within the time stated for your package.
1. Booking and deposit
Your session is confirmed when we have agreed the date, time and package in writing and received your deposit of 30% of the package price. The deposit is deducted from the total. The balance is due on the day of the session, before or immediately after it.
2. Weather
If rain or strong wind makes the session impossible, we move it to another day of your stay at no cost, subject to availability. If no other date works during your trip, we refund your deposit in full. Light rain or cloud is not a reason to cancel on its own — we have covered locations and it often makes beautiful photos — but we will always decide together.
3. Changes and cancellations by you
- More than 7 days before the session: free change of date, or cancellation with a full refund of the deposit.
- Within 7 days: the deposit is not refundable, but it can be moved to a new date within 12 months.
- No-show without notice: the deposit is not refundable.
4. Cancellation by us
If illness or an emergency stops us from photographing your session, we will offer a new date or a trusted replacement photographer, or refund everything you have paid.
5. Timing
Sessions start at the agreed time. If you are late we will wait, but the session ends at the planned time so other clients are not affected. If we are late, we add the missing time at the end.
6. Location fees and third parties
Location fees and entry tickets, such as the Parques de Sintra heritage image fee, are paid directly by you on the day. Suppliers you book through our suggestions — florists, celebrants, hair and make-up, boats — contract with you directly.
7. Delivery
Photos are delivered in a private online gallery within the time stated for your package (normally 7 days; 5 days for Signature; 48-hour sneak peek for proposals; 10–14 days for elopements). We choose and edit the final images; unedited files are not supplied.
8. How you can use your photos
We keep the copyright, and you receive a personal-use licence: you may print, share on social media (credit appreciated), use on invitations and wedding websites and give them as gifts. Commercial use — for example advertising or selling the images — needs written permission.
9. How we can use your photos
We only use photos from your session in our portfolio, website or social media with your permission. Proposal and family sessions stay private unless you tell us otherwise.
10. Safety and conduct
We follow local rules at every location and may adjust or stop a shot if it is unsafe — for example near cliff edges, on tram lines or in traffic.
11. Law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. As a consumer you also keep any rights you have under the law of your country of residence.
